Chinese Painted Neolithic Jar 3rd millennium B.C. A tall ceramic jar with piriform body, tapering neck, everted rim and two integral loop handles below the shoulder, decorated with a medial band of painted chevrons, scallops and hatched roundels. 3 kg, 35.5 cm high (14 in.). Acquired 1970s. West Country, UK, collection.
