Chinese Neolithic Painted Jar 3rd millennium B.C. A ceramic jar with piriform body, bulbous neck, everted rim to the mouth and two small integral loop handles below the shoulder, decorated with a medial band of painted hatched roundels and chevrons. 1.85 kg, 27.5 cm high (10 7/8 in.). Acquired 1970s. West Country, UK, collection.
