Ancient Greek Coins - Macedonia - Alexander III (the Great) - Countermarked Zeus AR Tetradrachm
213-212 B.C. Phaselis, Pamphylia mint, posthumous issue, dated year 9. Obv: head of Herakles right, wearing lionskin headdress; Seleukid anchor countermark on head. Rev: ALEXANDROY legend with Zeus seated left, right leg drawn back, holding eagle and sceptre; ? over F in left field. O beneath throne. Price 2845; Prokesch-Osten 53. 16.28 grams.
