Old Babylonian Erotic Clay Plaque
Circa 19th-17th century B.C. A ceramic plaque fragment presenting an erotic scene composed of a man and a woman copulating a tergo, in raised relief; accompanied by a custom-made display stand. 40 grams, 72 mm (73 grams total, 84 mm high including stand) (2 7/8 in. ( 3 1/4 in.)). Acquired 1970-1999.Property of a late Mayfair, London gentleman, by descent.Accompanied by an old illustrated catalogue card.
