Byzantine Gold Cross Bead
8th-10th century A.D. A biconvex sheet gold lenticular bead with applied granule detailing to each face in the form of a voided cross with a triangular penale to each spandrel. 1.21 grams, 13 mm (5/8 in.). Acquired 1970-2010.Collection of a late Japanese gentleman.Accompanied by a previous illustrated catalogue card.
