Description

Western Asiatic Bronze Decorated Dish
3rd-2nd century B.C. With carinated sidewall and everted rim, central boss, incised rosette and surrounding hatched panels and palmettes; mounted on a custom-made stand. Cf. vessel of similar form in ceramic in the collection of the British Museum under accession number 1894,0719.2. 217 grams, 16 cm wide (390 grams total, 19.5 cm including high including stand) (6 1/4 in. (7 5/8 in.)).

Collected from 1979-1999. From the collection of the late Mr S.M., London, UK.
