Description

Phoenician Glass Alabastron
6th-5th century B.C. Core formed with rounded base, dragged trail pattern in blue, white and yellow, two lateral lug handles below the everted rim. Cf. British Museum reference number.1899,1229.6, for a vessel of similar form.
39.8 grams, 91 mm high (3 1/2 in.).
Acquired 1980-2015.Ex Abelita family collection.
