Description

Romano-Celtic Silver Snake
1st century B.C.-1st century A.D. With open mouth and impressed eyes, tail forming a hook. Cf. similar item bent into a circle to form a bracelet, in the British Museum collection under accession no.1870,1008.37. 22 grams, 20.5 cm (8 in.).

Acquired 1980-2015. Ex Abelita family collection.
