Description
2nd-3rd century A.D.. Comprising a triangular plaque joined by three radiating struts to a disc with radiating lugs and central enamelled concentric rings; the plaque with lateral leaf-shaped panels all decorated with herringbone motifs, catch and hinged pin to the reverse. Cf. Hattatt, R., Ancient Brooches and Other Artefacts, Oxford, 1989, item 1561. 6.9 grams, 36 mm (1 3/8 in.).
