Description

11th-10th century B.C.. Of 'pegged leaf-shaped' type with tapering socket and gusseted midrib, rounded shoulders to the blade, narrow point, two opposed holes for the insertion of attachment rivets. Cf. Ehrenberg, M., Bronze Spearheads from Berks, Bucks and Oxon, BAR 34, Oxford, 1977, tables 21, 22, for type. 76 grams, 13.5 cm (5 1/4 in.).

Acquired in Germany in 2000. Acquired by the present owner from the above. (For this specific lot, 5% import VAT is applicable on the hammer price.)
