Description

Neolithic Period, circa 3000-2000 B.C.. Small and triangular in plan with narrow butt, some cortex remaining; old inked legend 'SALISBURY' to one end. Cf. MacGregor, A. (ed.), Antiquities from Europe and the Near East in the Collection of Lord McAlpine of West Green, Oxford, 1987, item 4.2, for type. 66 grams, 98 mm (3 7/8 in.).

Found fieldwalking near Salisbury, Wiltshire, UK, by Mr P.M. From the collection of a South West London, UK, specialist Stone Age collector. [No Reserve]
