Description

Anglo-Saxon. Primary Phase, Series BX/B VI Mule AR Sceattas. Circa 685-710. Diademed bust with protruding chin to right, annulet before; all within beaded circle / VANTAVMA, bird on cross with annulet in each angle, additional annulet either side of the cross arms; all within a serpent circle. SCBC 776/777; M 97/102; Abr 15-10/16-10. 1.18gr, 13mm, 9h Extremely Fine. Deep brown old cabinet tone. Extremely rare mule, an exceptionally rare variant with additional annulets.

Found in UK; Acquired from Mike Vosper, 25 November 2016, no. SS-BTQD, old collector's ticket included.
