Description
Sigismund II August, 2 Denarius Vilnius 1567 - NGC MS62 Variety with the Lithuanian coat of arms tail pointing upwards. Brilliant uncirculated. Graded MS62 by NGC. Second highest grade in NGC population report. Only one coin graded higher at the time of creating auction description. Odmiana z ogonem Pogoni skierowanym w górę. Mennicza moneta z oceną MS62 od NGC. Druga najwyższa nota w rejestrze NGC. Wyłącznie jeden egzemplarz oceniony wyżej na moment tworzenia opisu aukcyjnego.
Dwudenary litewskie Zygmunta Augusta mennica wileńska emitowała w latach 1566-1570. Były to monety bite w dużych ilościach ze srebra próby 3 ½ łuta. Ważyły one średnio 0,647 i zawierały 0,141 g czystego kruszcu. Na awersie dwudenarów litewskich pod koroną umieszczano monogram królewski „SA”, zaś po jego bokach datę. Na rewersie znalazł się herb Litwy – Pogoń oraz poniżej liczba „II” – oznaczenie nominału.
