Obverse: Bust of the Mother of God, facial, nimbate, wearing chiton and maphorion, her hands in praying posture, sigla, ΜΡ-ΘΥ (Mother of God), dotted border.

Reverse: Inscription in 4 lines following a cross, + CΤΕ/ΦΑΝΟC/R'A'CΠΑ/ΘΑΡ, = + Στέφανος βασιλικὸς πρωτοσπαθάριος (Stephanos imperial protospatharios), dotted border.
